What will the project management diploma include?
BSB50820 · Diploma of Project Management · AQF level 5.
The national package requires 12 units: eight core and four electives. Release 1 is dated 19 October 2020. The focus is leading projects and connecting their functions to achieve agreed objectives.
Which eight units are core?
- BSBPMG530 — Manage project scope
- BSBPMG531 — Manage project time
- BSBPMG532 — Manage project quality
- BSBPMG533 — Manage project cost
- BSBPMG534 — Manage project human resources

These eight units are compulsory. Ask the provider how its module names map to the national codes and where the practical evidence for each unit is assessed.
Which elective rules must the package meet?
Choose at least two listed electives. The other two may be listed electives or suitable units at Diploma or above from a current endorsed training package qualification or accredited course. Do not select BSBPMG430 Undertake project work.
Do you need an earlier project qualification?
National entry requirements are nil. Provider admission and readiness checks are separate, including any expectations about project access or study skills. Ask for those conditions before enrolling.
How do you check that an offer covers the whole diploma?
Request all 12 unit codes. Identify the eight cores, then check the four electives against the packaging rule and the explicit BSBPMG430 exclusion. Ask how the assessment plan covers each unit even where several units use the same project context.
